Greengate Frame is taking shape
The ongoing site works are progressing well at the second phase Greengate scheme, 100 Embankment. At just over halfway through the build programme, the steel frame is now nearly complete, with steel up to level 8 for the office floors and the core steelwork up to the roof level at the ninth floor. The mechanical and electrical installations are ongoing throughout the lower level floors within the office space, with the drylining partitions also underway.
As part of a commitment to sustainability from the client, the office building is being completed with the requirement of having a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, as well as achieving an efficient thermal performance which improves on current Part L requirements.
100 Embankment is situated at the historic centre of Salford and overlooks Manchester Cathedral and Deansgate. Once complete, the second building of the two-phase development will conclude our work on the regeneration of the Greengate area which links Manchester and the River Irwell with the redevelopment of the viaduct.
