RIBAJ PIP Office Buildings Seminar
This Wednesday, 10 October, Director David Lawrence will be presenting the practice’s 101 Embankment, Greengate scheme at the RIBA as part of the RIBA Journal’s PIP Seminar series.
The seminar series aims to cover the latest exemplary projects in various sectors, exploring how collaboration between architects, consultants and manufacturers are helping create better designed, inspiring and sustainable places to work.
The building is the first of a two-phased development in the historic centre of Salford, overlooking Manchester Cathedral. Sitting on a Grade 2 Listed viaduct, the 10 floor building appears as a lightweight jewel above the robust sandstone façade of the railway embankment.
The new office space is carefully integrated into the adjacent public realm through a ‘hub’ circulation building, stitching together multiple elements while celebrating the rich history of the listed Embankment area. David’s talk will be focussing on the building’s historic context, and how the design interacts with this to contribute to the public realm.
The seminar is on Wednesday 10th October from 08.30 – you can register here.
